Now You're Talking

“Kites rise against the wind – not with it.”
— Winston Churchill

Air quality, whether outdoors or inside buildings, has long been a subject of public concern. More recently, issues related to wind energy are joining those of traditional health-related controversies about our air.

CDR’s effective approaches can transform problems and resistance into opportunities for new agreements. We facilitate and mediate dialog among national, state, and local audiences regarding air quality and wind use.

We’ve played an instrumental role in helping groups who are:

  • Preventing indoor air pollution and health risks from manufacturing processes for carpets
  • Developing the  National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) for the wood furniture industry
  • Addressing air emissions from a power plant in the Southwestern United States
  • Mitigating visibility impacts on the Grand Canyon
  • Developing ozone reduction and control strategies in Pennsylvania
  • Conducting public hearings on the controversial Cape Wind Project to site 130 windmills off Cape Cod
