International and Intercultural Overview |
CDR and its network of international partners provide professional facilitators, mediators, trainers and dispute resolution systems designers who assist individuals and groups from different cultures and backgrounds to successfully address and resolve difficult issues or conflicts. Specifically, we provide:
- Facilitation or mediation of brief or extended decision making meetings or conflict resolution initiatives that have inter-cultural components
- Design, implementation and capacity building for institutions and systems that prevent and manage conflicts (public, natural resource, environment, development, civil, land ownership, labor-management, civil rights and personnel issues)
- Customized training programs on culturally appropriate decision making, negotiation, mediation and other conflict management procedures and skills
- Dialogue and deliberation processes that promote improved communications and cooperation between groups in conflict
- Enhanced mechanisms for public participation and democratic institution building in civil society and political systems
- Described below are selected examples of CDR's work in the substantive and procedural areas described above.
